Acidity is a condition wherein stomach produces too much acid, which can cause burning sensation especially in the epigastric region.

Generally hydrochloric acid, which is released in the stomach is helpful in the digestion of food. But when the released is more than required or excess that affects the inner layers of stomach causing acidity

Causes of Acidity:

  1. excess consumption of spicy food

  2. fatty food

  3. Alcohol

  4. Smoking

  5. Too much junk food

  6. Excess consumption green chilli

Symptoms:

  • Burning pain in the epigastric chest region.

  • Mouth ulcers.

  • Poor appetite

  • Nausea, vomiting

  • Inflammation in the chest region

  • Gastro esophageal reflux

Prevention

  • Timely food intake

  • Eat slowly

  • Change your eating pattern

  • Increase water intake, 

  • Natural juices

  • Avoid sleeping soon after having food

  • Avoid tea, coffee

  • Quit smoking

  • Limit alcohol intake

  • Eat healthy

  • Have good sleep in the night

  • Do not skip food or do not keep stomach empty for long duration

  • Drink good amount of water

  • Have juices from natural sourceSpecially kokam, 

  • coconut water

  • Eat gooseberry

  • Drink jaggery water

  • Have fennel water

  • Eat fruits & vegetables
