Female infertility & Role of Ayurveda

Motherhood is a greatest journey of the life every women wish to experience & cherish.

Infertility is a medical condition affecting reproductive system characterized by inability to conceive despite having regular unprotected sexual intercourse for 12 months or more. Around 10% of women aged 15-44 have experienced fertility issues.

Female infertility can result from a diverse array of abnormalities affecting ovaries, fallopian tubes, ovum, uterus, endocrine system & many other factors.

It may be because of PCOS, thyroid issues, unhealthy egg production, fallopian tube passage issues. Uterine wall issues

As per Ayurveda essential factors for the conception are

Ritu (reproductive period)

Kshetra (female reproductive tract/uterus)

Any abnormality or malfunctions of these affects the fertility outcome

First and foremost treatment is shodhana/purification or cleansing therapies, which aims to eliminate the root causes by removing the toxins from whole body including uterus & whole reproductive system & balancing the vata, pitta & kapha Doshas

The Ayurvedic treatments of Shodhana (Purification) & Shodhana (balancing) using different Ayurvedic herbs and herbomineral formulations are giving a new hope in women who are anxious to conceive.

Shodhana includes Vaman (Emesis), Virechana (purgation), Basti (Enema), Nasya (Nasal drops) according to the route cause the Shodhana or purification procedure will be chosen.
